Art Center Strategic Plan

One of the best kept secrets in northeast Ohio is right under our noses. It is that little 1939 gem located on Chardon Square known as the Geauga Theater. Over 15 years ago the City of Chardon acquired the building and graciously offered it to the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild.

Since then, they have used it for the home of many local productions, from live theater and music, to movies and community events. As citizens of Chardon we can consider ourselves privileged to have our own community theater. It is something that few communities enjoy.
The Theater Guild currently offers youth education classes, affordable movies, and has partnered with local restaurants and the art gallery on the square to provide unique evenings out for you as a local resident. Concurrently the city agreed to allow the Guild to occupy the old Nolan Building at 106 Water Street.

This is the large gray building across from the police station. The plan is to turn this building into a performing arts center. A few months ago the board put together a dream team to make that center a reality. Our goal is to renovate the space and offer classes in dance, music, visual arts, theater arts, and even film making.

As you can imagine, an undertaking such as this is no small venture - so we need your help. We've planned an open forum to be held at the Theater building . The exciting thing is that the art center can be yours by design. You can be involved in these early stages of design.
