Celebrate "The Artist Within You"

Noon to 6:30 on and around Chardon Square
* Performances, exhibitions, interactive workshops will be conducted by artists from Northeast Ohio throughout the day.
AND
8 pm to 10 pm performance at Geauga Theater
* The Arts Jam will culminate with “The Artist Within”, at Geauga Theater beginning at 8 p.m. The performance will feature community members who lead double lives as fine artists. Former WKSU radio personality and folk music guru Jim Blum will host the evening.

* All activities free or of nominal charge, and many family-friendly activities to engage artists and performers of all ages.

Music from bluegrass to rock, visual art, contact juggling, aerial performance, painting, printmaking, poetry, magic, flash mobs, clog dancing, kites, instrument petting zoo, live theater, and much more!

A variety of indoor and outdoor venues will be hosting activities, including local merchants around the Square.

Other artists & activities throughout the day & eve include:

Vietnamese musicians Ph?m Th? Hu? - voice, ?àn ?áy (long-necked trapezoid lute), and ?àn t? bà (pear-shaped lute) and her daughter Nguy?n Hu? Ph??ng - voice and phach (Vietnamese percussion instrument)
** They are in residence with the Cleveland Foundation's "Creative Fusion" program between April and June 2013, and being hosted by Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio. The music they perform is "ca trù", a 900-year-old tradition of poetic singing from northern Vietnam, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Mankind; in 2009 it was named a tradition in need of urgent safeguarding.

Back by popular demand, Tomáseen Foley returns to evoke an Irish céilí gathering - the countryside festivities of story, song and dance during the wedding and matchmaking seasons. Called "the Garrison Keillor of Ireland," Foley weaves hilarious tales from his youth in rural Ireland, while the musicians raise the rafters with joyous traditional music.

The Geauga Lyric Theater Guild welcomes new and innovative ideas, programs, classes and events. The mission of the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild is to provide arts education to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities and to help build a vibrant community through educational programs and performances that promote creative expression and civic engagement.

If you believe your idea may be a good fit for our organization, and is in line with our mission, please submit a proposal for consideration.
